Autism

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by differences in communication, social interaction, sensory processing, and behavior patterns. Individuals with autism may have unique strengths and challenges, and their experiences can vary widely across the spectrum. From an integrative psychiatry perspective, autism is approached with respect for neurodiversity, while also addressing co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, sleep issues, or gastrointestinal concerns. Treatment is individualized and may include behavioral therapies, nutritional and gut health support, sensory integration approaches, and parent or family guidance—focusing on enhancing quality of life, self-regulation, and overall well-being.
